CarVia stands for exclusive premium car rental and true driving pleasure. Cars like the Porsche Taycan Turbo combine sustainable performance, luxury, and curated routes for maximum driving enjoyment.
We first met brothers Joschka and Julian Reik from premium car rental company CarVia at our event in Sylt in 2019. Back then, they drove all the way from Munich to Sylt via Bottrop in a BMW i8, proving that they are true enthusiasts. This is exactly how their car rental concept is structured. The focus is entirely on the current and future needs of premium customers. Whether you want to drive to your appointment in an environmentally friendly Tesla or head to the mountains in a Porsche at the weekend, CarVia always has the right vehicle in its portfolio. A roadbook with specially selected routes and tours as well as tips and tricks for maximum driving pleasure is always included. Since its founding in 2017, the team is now active at four locations with 15 vehicles.
One of the latest additions to the fleet is the Porsche Taycan Turbo in white. If you haven't driven it yet, it's an absolutely unique driving experience and no less emotional than a comparable car with a combustion engine! After a detailed conversation with Joschka at the centrally located office in Munich, we set off. The only thing we couldn't try out was the launch control due to the heavy rain... ;-)
We enter the Munich Drivers & Business Club as our navigation destination. An exclusive club for personalities ‘with drive’ and, above all, a passion for automobiles and racing, founded by none other than Motorworld owner Andreas Dünkel, among others. When we arrive in front of the club's listed building, it becomes clear that no effort has been spared to create a unique place. After a warm welcome at the entrance, we are allowed to take a look at the various rooms that are otherwise reserved for members only: the huge library with numerous works on the subject of automobiles, the cigar lounge with a walk-in humidor, the private dining areas, and office spaces. After lunch together in the club's own restaurant, we look back on an eventful day full of conversations about our passion for beautiful cars – which is what cars connect people is all about.

Philipp Lauterbach is the founder of DRIVTO, the curated identity and discovery platform for the European sportscar scene. Based in Düsseldorf, he has been building sportscar communities since August 2018 — first through the Cars+Coffee format in Düsseldorf, Cologne, Berlin, Mönchengladbach, and on Sylt, and since mid-2024 through DRIVTO as a platform with its own editorial magazine and proprietary DriverDNA methodology.
His path into the sportscar world began with an event-management apprenticeship inside a Mercedes-Benz dealer group. From there he moved into marketing roles at Ferrari and Maserati in Düsseldorf, where he became one of the defining marketing voices for these brands in Germany at the time. That phase also gave him his first direct contact with the Cars+Coffee movement — and the affinity for Italian cars that still shapes him today. Ferrari and Pagani have been at the center of what he himself seeks as a driver ever since.
Before DRIVTO, he established the Cars+Coffee stations across several German cities — an independent event series that at its most active phase connected more than 1,500 sportscar drivers across the DACH region. The DRIVTO driver community grew out of that base. His editorial focus sits on the pillars Cars Connect People (personal founder voice, driver stories) and State of the Scene (data-grounded market analyses, industry essays).
